Many top labels in the kids fashion business have a cute story about how the name of the company was selected. Here are some of our favorites.

"Corky is Courtney, our oldest daughter, and the inspiration for Corky & Company. She was Corky & Company’s first customer, first model, she helped make our first sale on Cape Cod, she interviewed our first sales representative in Boston, she came to New York for our first fashion show and over the years she has been the best Corky ambassador ever. It’s only fitting that she is the company’s namesake."

"In the beginning, it just began with a silly name. According to my mother, "Gassy Gooma" is the name I called myself as a baby when I was yet unable to say my name, Gretchen."
